APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE FY 2002 BUDGET, AND
MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE
30, 2002
WHEREAS, the mid-year budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002, has been
presented and reviewed by this Council in accordance with Section 15.2-2507 of the 1950 Code of
Virginia, as amended; and
WHEREAS, a public heating on the proposed budget amendments was held on January 23,
2002; and
WHEREAS, budget amendments are necessary and staff recommends approval:
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The FY 2002 Budget is hereby amended for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
2001 and ending June 30, 2002, as follows to include the adjusted totals to the categories and
accounts of the Funds listed below:
a. From the General Fund $46,190 and appropriations are made from the FY 2001
Unreserved Fund Balance for a Police School Resource Officer ($25,715) and a Human
Resources Administrative Associate 1I ($20,475).
b. From the Utilities Fund $950,000 and appropriations are made from the Utilities Fund
Surplus for a Senior Utilities Plant Operator ($24,000), a mechanical mixing system
($350,000), increased security measures ($40,000), a Maintenance Worker llI
($21,000), a mosquito control plan at town facilities ($30,000), power factor capacitors
($10,000), the Loudoun Street Building architectural and engineering services
($375,000), and Fairview Street utility upgrade ($100,000).

SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to transfer appropriations made herein to
accounts within the same departmental budget as long as the total appropriation for the department
is not adjusted.
