ESTABLISHING AN ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR STANDING
COMMITTEES OF THE TOWN
WHEREAS, member participation on standing committees is crucial to providing
recommendations concerning town issues; and
WHEREAS, Council is amending the Town Code to provide consistency on attendance
policies for all town boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Council that all members appointed by Council to standing
committees shall adhere to the same policies as the boards and commissions.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The chairperson is required to report any attendance problems of members
appointed by the Town Council to the town council, which has the authority to require a member
to resign if the said member is absent from three consecutive meetings.
This resolution shall be in effect upon its passage.
