HomeMy Public PortalAbout2002_04_09_r052 Requesting Inclusion of TOL projects in County Bond ReferendumThe Town of Leesburg, rg ma PRESENTED April 9, 2002 RESOLUTION NO. 2002-52 ADOPTED April 9, 2002 A RESOLUTION: REQUESTING LOUDOUN COUNTY TO INCLUDE SIGNIFICANT TOWN OF LEESBURG PROJECTS IN THE PROPOSED NOVEMBER 5, 2002 COUNTY BOND REFERENDUM WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors is considering whether to authorize a bond referendum on needed transportation projects; and WHEREAS, Leesburg's road network serves both interregional and local functions; and WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has identified four significant transportation projects that will improve the regional transportation network and reduce traffic congestion; and WHEREAS, the Town Council desires for these projects to be included in a proposed county bond referendum. THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia requests that Loudoun County include the following significant transportation projects in its November 5, 2002 bond referendum. 1. Town of Leesburg Battlefield Parkway from Sycolin Road to Route 7 - four (4) lane divided roadway. Sycolin Road overpass over Route 7/15 Bypass 0 four (4) lane undivided. Sycolin Road widening for Route 7/15 Bypass to South Corporate Limits - four (4) lane divided/undivided. 2 A RESOLUTION: REQUESTING INCLUSION OF PROJECTS IN BOND REFERENDUM 4.
