TOWN OF BREWSTER MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD
Work Session
Wednesday August 15, 2007 7:30 P.M.
Brewster Town Office Building
Chairman Henchy convened the Planning Board work session at 7:30PM in the Brewster Town Office Building
with members Elizabeth Taylor, Howard Cabezas and John McMullen.
7:30 PM Discussion on Zoning By-law Progress
A Planning Board Discussion occurred regarding the status of the following bylaws:
1. Proposals for Bylaws related to permitting Wind Turbines
2. Revisions to Groundwater Overlay Protection District/Water Quality Review Bylaw
3. Home Occupations -tighter definitions and controls on impacts
4. Responsibilities related to "open space" lands owned by Neighborhood Associations
5. Changeable Copy/ Special Event Signs -allowance for non-profit civic organizations only (clarify - no
commercial sales event signs)
6. Sunset Terms for Special Permits
7. "Use Variances"
A focus of the meeting surrounded the Wind Turbine bylaw. It was agreed that a separate document would be
prepared that would hold the rules and regulations. The Rules/Regulations must be approved by the Board
and must have a public hearing. This would occur if and when the Bylaw was passed at Town Meeting.
