A RESOLUTION:
DONATING PROPERTY TO THE LOUDOUN COUNTY
RESCUE SQUAD
WHEREAS, on May 29, 2002, Mr. Alfred Willis, representing the Loudoun
County Rescue Squad, petitioned the Town Council to consider donating a portion of
property identified as tax map 48K parcel ((2))G and known as the skate park property
for the purpose of accommodating a building addition and site improvements proposed
by the rescue squad; and
WHEREAS, the donation of property is being pursued to satisfy perimeter
parking lot landscaping requirements and no improvements are being sought on that
portion of town property; and
WHEREAS, without the donation of land the rescue squad would be required to
remove a portion of the existing travel isle that leads to the rear of the rescue squad
facility which will adversely impact any plans for expanding the existing facility; and
WHEREAS, the donation of property will not have an adverse impact on the
existing public improvements on the skate park property; and
WHEREAS, the expansion of the rescue squad facility is in the interest of the
general public health, safety, and welfare.

DONATING PROPERTY TO THE LOUDOUN COUNTY
THEREFORE, RESOLVED the Town Council authorizes the Town Manager to
execute the appropriate documents necessary for donating property to the rescue squad on
behalf of the Town Council with the following conditions:
1. The Loudoun County Rescue Squad will be responsible for preparing any legal
documents including the deed and plat of gift necessary for the donation of
property.
