A RESOLUTION:
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
PURCHASE AGREEMENT, IN AN APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF
$1,379,800.00 WITH LEEGATE CORPORATION, N.V., FOR
ACQUISITION OF APPROXIMATELY 17.35 ACRES OF LAND.
WHEREAS, the work and storage space at the existing Public Works Facility is no longer
adequate to serve the needs of the town's Utility Lines Division (ULD) and the Public Works
Department; and
WHEREAS, several sites were evaluated by Utility Department staff for construction of a
Utility Lines Division maintenance facility; and
WHEREAS, the Leegate site, adjacent to the Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF), was
found to be the most suitable site; and
WHEREAS, purchase of a portion of the Leegate property to the west of the WPCF site and
east of the proposed Battlefield Parkway will provide additional buffer between the WPCF and the
future Battlefield Parkway and will also meet both current and future needs of the Utility
Department; and
WHEREAS, the approximate acreage, 17.35 acres, has been estimated and will be finalized
upon completion of a land survey; and
WHEREAS, the purchase cost has been identified at $1,379,800.00, subject to final
revision, based on determination of flood zone acreage.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:

IN AN APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $1,379,800.00 WITH LEEGATE CORPORATION,
N.V. FOR ACQUISITION OF APPROXIMATELY 17.35 ACRES OF LAND.
The Town Manager is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a purchase agreement
with Leegate Corporation, N.V., in a form approved by the Town Attorney, for acquisition of the
referenced property, in the approximate amount of $1,379,800.00.
