RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SIGN THE
CONTRACT WITH DIETZE CONSTRUCTION GROUP IN
THE AMOUNT OF $2,319,257.00 FOR TERMINAL BUILDING
RENOVATION AND EXPANSION AND AUTHORIZING A
TRANSFER FROM THE GENERAL FUND BALANCE IN THE
AMOUNT OF $497,880.00
WHEREAS, The Leesburg Executive Airport is the Commonwealth's second
busiest general aviation airport; and
WHEREAS. the Town is dedicated to a Capital Improvement Program at the
Airport to increase capacity and maintain a high level of safety; and
WHEREAS. The Town desires to proceed with the Terminal Building Renovation
and Expansion Project; and
WHEREAS. this project is to be funded by State grant in the amount of $ 995,760.00 and
the remaining $1,323,497.00 is to be funded by bond revenue; and
WHEREAS. these State grant funds are provided by the Virginia Aviation Board
in two tentative allocations, and the first allocation of $497,800.00 has been received; and
WHEREAS. the Town must advance the second tentative allocation of State funds, or
$497,880.00 until FY 2004, and the source of these funds will be the General Fund Balance to be
reimbursed by State grant if available; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Director and Airport Commission recommend adoption
of this resolution.

$2,319,257.00 FOR TERMINAL BUILDING RENOVTION AND
EXPANSION
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
ATTEST:
SECTION I. The Town Manager is hereby authorized to execute the contract with
Dietze Construction Group in the amount of $2,319,257.00 for Terminal
Building Renovation and Expansion in a form acceptable to the Town
Attorney; and
SECTION II: A transfer is authorized from the General Fund Balance to the Airport
Fund in the amount of $497,880.00 to be reimbursed by State grant if
available.
