HomeMy Public PortalAbout2012.04.05 AAC MinutesPage 1 of 2 AAC Minutes April 5, 2012 City of McCall Airport Advisory Committee MINUTES April 5, 2012 Noon Legion Hall The Airport Advisory Committee meeting opened at 1205 with Dan Scott chairing. AAC members Matt Shaddle and Rick Fereday were also in attendance. Mike Anderson, Brian O’Morrow, Kendal Murat, airport engineer Kevin Bissell and airport manager John Anderson were also in attendance. 1. The minutes of the February 2 AAC Meeting were reviewed and approved. 2. Public Comment-There was no public comment at this time. 3. Lease Assignment Hangar 522 Northfork Properties to Pete Sinclair. Dan Scott mentioned that he knew Pete as a pilot and frequent flyer into McCall and that he would be a welcome addition to hangar ownership. The lease assignment was unanimously recommended to send this lease forward to City Council with a recommendation for approval. 4. AIP 19 Runway/Sewer Project Closeout. After a few more lighting parts are received, the project it ready for closeout. 5. Land Acquisition Process & Progress-Scope of Work. Appraisers are on board and should be released to start work soon. FAA is reviewing criteria for supplement to the EA to allow purchase of additional development land contiguous to the taxiway relocation. 6. SRE Building Update-Interior Work and Grading. Progress of the building project was discussed. Mike Anderson asked about the future access to the gate at the building site, 336 E Page 2 of 2 AAC Minutes April 5, 2012 Deinhard. John Anderson discussed that the gate is closed at this time for construction access only and that a discussion about access to the airfield needs to be considered in the future including the movement of the Mc all Aviation gate. 7. Airports Included in Test Survey- A discussion of what airports were appropriate to consider when comparing airport lease rates was considered. Some wanted to included airports like Salmon, Weiser, and Emmet, while others felt that Sun Valley, Aspen, and Rifle, CO should be included. Other airports discussed included Friday Harbor, Bend or Redmond, OR, Heber City, UT and Pullman, WA. 8. Airport Code-2011 Planning Staff Report Attached, a document for use as one point in the discussion. After some discussion, the committee decided to review the work to date on this effort as an AAC function, thus making the process open to the public. It was the stated intent to included the Planning Director as well as the members of the previous ad hoc committee as participants in the discussion. It was felt that the process to date is close to having a product that is ready for Planning and Zoning to consider. Dan Scott made a comment that the airport snow removal effort this year was excellent and certainly much better than it was several years ago. The meeting was adjourned at 1250. The next Airport Advisory Committee Meeting will be held on May 3.
