TOWN OF BREWSTER MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD
Work Session
Wednesday November 28, 2007 7:00 P.M.
Brewster Town Office Building
Chairman Henchy convened the Planning Board work session at 7:OOPM in the Brewster Town Office
Building with members Taylor and Tubman present.
7:00 pm WORK SESSION -The Cape Cod Commission will be holding a workshop for us to show how
the various GIS data layers, showing development constraints (environmental, historic, etc) and development
potential (zoning, carrying capacity, infrastructure, etc.) can be depicted on maps to help us plan for land
uses, facilities and future growth.
Present for the Cape Cod Commission: Heather McElroy and John Lipman
Town Hall Representatives: Victor Staley, Jillian Douglass, Diane Cooney, Chris Miller
McElroy: presented an overview of the Brewster GIS Map and stated her objective of the meeting. Her goal
was to show the GIS map capabilities and try to determine the best uses of areas in Brewster.
Reyonlds: Gave a demonstration of the GIS software and showed some of the various data layers available
to apply to Brewster. She also mentioned that Brewster currently has this software and is able to run some
of the maps she showed. She said there is a free reader version of the software that could be loaded on
anyone's computer -however, if we didn't feel comfortable with the software then she could run any map we
needed.
A discussion occurred regarding additional software being utilized by other Towns. (Municity, Pictomotry).
The Cape Cod Commission tried to establish the uses Brewster would like to occur in certain areas. It was
determined that the current zoning map the commission had was inaccurate. Ms. Douglass agreed to
forward to the commission the changes that needed to be made.
Taylor motioned to adjourn. Second by Tubman. All Aye.
Respectfully submitted,
