RESOLUTION NO. 2002-117 ADOPTED July 1, 2002
A RESOLUTION: SETTING THE TOWN COUNCIL CALENDAR
WHEREAS, the Town Council traditionally meets in formal session at 7:30 p.m., on the
second and fourth Tuesday in each month and sits as a "committee of the whole" convening at 7:00
p.m. on the Monday preceding the regular council meeting in the Council Chambers, 25 West
Market Street; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council traditionally cancels the last Council meetings in August to
observe summer vacation and the second meetings of December to observe the Christmas holiday;
and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg will observe Columbus Day on October 14, 2002,
Veteran's Day on November 11, 2002, and Memorial Day on May 26, 2003; and
WHEREAS, these holidays will conflict with the Council Work Sessions of October 14,
2002, November 11, 2002 and May 26, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Section 15.2-1416 of the Code of Virginia requires that Council set its calendar
at its first meeting in July.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The Town Council shall meet in formal session at 7:30 p.m., on the second and
fourth Tuesday in each month and shall sit as a "committee of the whole" convening at 7:30 p.m.,
on Monday preceding the regular council meeting in the Council Chamber, 25 West Market Street
or at such time and place as the council may determine from time to time, except there shall be no
meeting on Monday, August 26, 2002; Tuesday, August 27, 2002; Monday, December 23, 2002;
and Tuesday, December 24, 2002.

SECTION II. The work session meeting on Monday, October 14, 2002 will be rescheduled
to Tuesday, October 15, 2002 and the formal session of October 15, 2002 will be rescheduled to
Wednesday, October 16, 2002; the work session meeting on Monday November 11, 2002 will be
rescheduled to Tuesday, November 12, 2002 and the formal session of November 12, 2002 will be
rescheduled to Wednesday, November 13, 2002; the work session meeting of Monday, May 26,
2003 will be rescheduled to Tuesday, May 27, 2003 and the formal session of May 27, 2003 will be
rescheduled to Wednesday, MaY 28, 2003.
