Home My Public Portal About2020_12_08_R121 Requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation to Accept Certain Streets The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: December 8, 2020 RESOLUTION NO. 2020-121 ADOPTED: December 8, 2020 A RESOLUTION : REQUESTING THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ACCEPT CERTAIN STREETS WHEREAS, the Town is requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation to accept certain streets; and WHEREAS, there are nine streets that have recently been completed and are eligible to request maintenance funding; and WHEREAS, the streets being requested are: • Compass Creek Parkway SE (Old Corp. Limits to New Corp. Limits) • Sycolin Road SE (Tolbert Lane to South Corporate Limits) • Dizerega Court SW (Catoctin Circle SW to Cul-de-sac) • Marathon Drive SE (South King Street to Laconian Street) • Laconian Street SE (Marathon Drive to Coubertin Drive) • Coubertin Drive SE (Laconian Street to Athena Drive) • Athena Drive SE (Coubertin Drive to Laconian Street) • Akan Street SE (Marathon Drive to Coubertin Drive) • Themis Street SE (Athena Drive to Coubertin Drive) THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby requests that the Virginia Department of Transportation accept the following streets to the Urban Highway System for Maintenance Payments: • 0.56 lane miles of Compass Creek Parkway SE (Old Corp. Limits to New Corp. Limits) • 1.14 lane miles of Sycolin Road SE (Tolbert Lane to South Corporate Limits) • 0.24 lane miles of Dizerega Court SW (Catoctin Circle SW to Cul-de-sac) • 0.46 lane miles of Marathon Drive SE (South King Street to Laconian Street) -2- A RESOLUTION: REQUESTING THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ACCEPT CERTAIN STREETS • 0.38 lane miles of Laconian Street SE (Marathon Drive to Coubertin Drive) • 0.38 lane miles of Coubertin Drive SE (Laconian Street to Athena Drive) • 0.62 lane miles of Athena Drive SE (Coubertin Drive to Laconian Street) • 0.38 lane miles of Akan Street SE (Marathon Drive to Coubertin Drive) • 0.28 lane miles of Themis Street SE (Athena Drive to Coubertin Drive) PASSED this 8th day of December, 2020.
