RESOLUTION NO. 2 0 0 2- 1 1 9 ADOPTED July 1, 2002
A RESOLUTION: MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO THE THOMAS BALCH LIBRARY
COMMISSION
WHEREAS, participation by public-spirited citizens on town boards and commissions is vital to
the success of town government and the democratic process; and
WHEREAS, boards and commissions serve an indispensable role in providing recommendations
concerning town policy and programs; and
WHEREAS, Council desires to appoint effective individuals to serve at its will and pleasure on
these advisory boards; and
WHEREAS, on July 24~ 2000, Council adopted Resolution No. 2000-148 establishing a
procedure concerning appOintment of individuals to town boards and commissions.
WHEREAS, the terms of four commission members expired on June 30, 2002.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia appoint the
following individuals to the Thomas Baleh Library Commission: Francis Fera and James H. Hershman,
Jr__=. are reappointed to a term expiring on June 30, 2006, Martha Schonberger is appointed to a term
expiring on June 30, 2006, and Thomas C. Marshall is appointed to a term expiring on June 30, 2004.
PASSED this 1st day of July 2002.
