SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA
MARCH 29, 1966
Mayor Harker called the Special Meeting of the City Council
to order at 6 :10 P.M. and advised the meeting was called to canvass
the election held on March 22, 1966, in connection with annexation to
the City of the area described as Temple City Annexation #10 -
Inhabited.
ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen - Dickason, Nunamaker, Harker
Absent: Councilmen - Merritt, Tyrell
Also Present: City Attorney Martin, City Manager
Koski
The City Manager presented the report of the City Clerk on
the canvass of the votes showing as follows:
Precinct No. 1 total number of ballots voted: 196
Precinct No. 2 total number of ballots voted: 179
Number of Absentee ballots voted: 2
Total Ballots Voted 377
Yes Votes: 224
No Votes: 153
Total Votes 377
The City Attorney advised that in order to get the quarterly
sales tax return, the Annexation must be filed with the Secretary of
State prior to May 15. In order to meet this dead -line the Special
Meeting was called to canvass the votes and have the first reading of
Ordinance No. 66 -192. The City Attorney read the title as follows :AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
"ANNEXATION NO. 10 ". He explained the second reading of the Ordinance
would be at the regular meeting of April 5, 1966, making the Ordinance
effective on May 5, which would give ten days to record with the State
and County Recorder. Councilman Dickason moved to waive further read-
ing of Ordinance No. 66 -192, Councilman Nunamaker seconded, and the
motion was carried by unanimous vote.
The City Attorney recommended the Council set an adjourned
meeting to consider the moratorium on gasoline stations which expires
on April 19. Councilman Nunamaker moved to adjourn to the regular.
meeting on April 5' and to adjourn to April 12 at 6 P. M. at that time,.,
Councilman Dickason seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Council adjourned at 6:30 P.M.
