ADOPTED August 13, 2002
AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2003 BUDGET AND MAKING AN
APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $333,000 TO THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT FROM FEDERAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUNDS
FOR EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING
WHEREAS, the federal government has provided $4.3 million in Federal Emergency
Response funds to Loudoun County to provide local first response capabilities due to the events of
September 11, 2001; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun County has agreed to divide the funds among the larger towns within
the County; and
WHEREAS, the Town will receive $333,000 from Loudoun County; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Chief of Police has evaluated his department's needs and
recommends the purchase of the following equipment and training for the department:
(1) Personal Protective Gear
(2) Mobile Command Post
(3) Expansion of Mobile Computer Program
(4) Special Operations Team Enhancements
(5) Crime Analysis Software Package
(6) Critical Incident Training

APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $333,000 TO THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT FROM FEDERAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUNDS
FOR EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The Council hereby appropriates $333,000 to be reimbursed to the town
from
Loudoun County Emergency Response funds for the following purposes:
(1) Personal Protective Gear
(2) Mobile Command Post
(3) Expansion of Mobile Computer Program
(4) Special Operations Team Enhancements
(5) Crime Analysis Software Package
(6) Critical Incident Training
PASSED this 13th day of August, 2002.
