RESOLUTION NO. 2002-150 ADOPTED August 13, 2002
A RESOLUTION: WITHDRAWING FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE LOUDOUN MAYORS'
HEALTHCARE COMMISSION OR TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, on November 14, 2000, the Leesburg Town Council endorsed the formation of the
Loudoun Mayor's Healthcare Commission (hereinaRer, "the Task Force") and authorized the Mayor to
appoint Town representation to the Task Force; and
WHEREAS, neither the Leesburg Town Council nor Town staff had received or reviewed or
endorsed the report of the Task Force prior to the presentation of the report to the Loudoun County
Board of Supervisors on July 1, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Town Council continues to support high quality healthcare services
for Town residents and believes that any analysis of Town healthcare needs should be based on accurate
data and methodologies.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby directs
that the Town shall have no further involvement in the Task Force.
FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Council recommends that, should the Loudoun County
Board of Supervisors establish a formal standing Board on County healthcare needs, the Town of
Leesburg should be afforded the opportunity to participate on such a formally established Board.
