A RESOLUTION: 2002-156 PRESENTED September 10, 2002 ADOPTED September 10, 2002 AWARDING A CONTRACT TO FARBER SPECIALTY VEHICLES FOR A MOBILE COMMAND CENTER VEHICLE IN THE AMOUNT OF $107,705 WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to have the police department equipped with technology that will increase department efficiency and effectiveness especially in critical incidents; and WHEREAS, the Town Council approved the use of Federal Emergency Response funding on August 13, 2002 for the police Mobile Command Center program; and WHEREAS, the Leesburg Police Department developed sPecifications for the Mobile Command Center to meet the town and department needs; and WHEREAS, the police department has identified Farber Specialty Vehicles as a vendor who can deliver the Mobile Command Center vehicle in accordance with the specifications; and WHEREAS, the Farber Specialty Vehicle bid was the lowest price bid; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police recommends purchasing this vehicle. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: The Town Manager shall authorize the purchase of a Mobile Command Center Vehicle from Farber Specialty Vehicles.
