1. Call to Order
Larry Kolb called the meeting to order at 10:07 am.
2. Review and approve minutes from the meeting held on December 6,2016.
The minutes were approved.
3. Old Business
none
4. Continue discussion adoption of the code with proposed amendments.
Discussions continued on the proposed list of amendments. Results of the 2nd review are listed
on the attached page.
5. New Business—next meeting assignment.
The committee will continue review of the list of proposed amendments.

The next regular meeting date will be skipped. The next meeting will be January 17, 2017.

2. Section 408.3-Add a 4th exception-"4. Historic districts." Note-does this include
Landmarks?
3. Section 705.1.8-Question the need for number of Type A units that are actually required
versus mandatory.
4. Section 1002.1-modify the last sentence of the first paragraph to"...,the building or only
the affected part of the building shall comply..."
5. Section 1012.8-delete or soften to "should"from "shall"
6. Chapter 12-review again with respect to what is"historic."
7. Section 1401.2.5-review accessibility requirements.
8. Section 1401.4.1-should this section state"...structural analysis by an engineer..."?
Reviewed and approved 2"d reading of proposed amendments:
1. Section 105.2-refer to Sections 706(reroofing)and 707.2 for addition or replacement of
roofing or replacement of equipment-what is exempt from permit?(Defer to Steering
Committee)-Philosophy is to exempt residential (1 and 2 family)envelope
repair/replacement work. Otherwise, an office consulting/permit fee is required for all
commercial envelope repair/replacement work.

Delete reference to the IRC in the main paragraph and delete item 3.2 of the section. (OK)

7. Section 908.1--delete section -- IECC compliance required (OK)
8. Section 1106.1-delete section since it refers to the IECC(OK)
9. Section 1401.2- Delete reference to date. This will allow
performance analysis on any building-regardless of when it was built. (OK)
10. The appendix will not be adopted (OK)
