AUTHORIZING AWARD OF A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $102,500
TO GEOGRAPHIC TECHNOLOGIES GROUP, INC. FOR PHASE I OF THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ENTERPRISE GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
SYSTEM
WHEREAS, a completed geographic information system (GIS) needs assessment in the summer of
2001; and
WHEREAS, the FY2003 budget includes $102,500 for Phase I of the implementation of this
system; and
WHEREAS, thirteen proposals were received in response to RFP# 1203-FY03-01 which was issued
in accordance with the Towns Procurement Policy; and
WHEREAS, three firms were short-listed and interviewed; and
WHEREAS, the evaluation committee comprised of staff from the IT, Finance, Utilities and
planning departments determined Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. to be the firm best suited to
complete this project for the town; and
WHEREAS, the Geographic Information System Coordinator and the Director of Information
Technology concur with this recommendation.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The town manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract in a form approved by the Town
Attorney with Geographic Technologies Group, in the amount of $102,500 for Phase I of this project.
