AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SIGN CONTRACT
ADDENDUM NUMBER 2 IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,000 WITH
CAMPBELL & PARIS ENGINEERS FOR RUNWAY DESIGN
SERVICES
WHEREAS, a contract was awarded to Campbell & Paris Engineers for engineering,
architectural, and construction management services on March 18, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the asphalt paving on the airport runway is showing normal signs of wear
and deterioration with age; and
WHEREAS, design work to rehabilitate the runway must be done, including considerable
pre-design testing of the existing runway pavement and sub-grade; and
WHEREAS, the amount of Contract Addendum Number 2 is $200,000; and
WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $200,000 appropriated in the 2002 - 2006 Capital
Improvement Program budget for the South Apron Expansion will be transferred to the runway
project to cover necessary design work; and
WHEREAS, these runway design services are ninety-eight percent funded by Federal
and State grants. The local two percent Town share is $4,000.
WHEREAS, the Airport Director and the Airport Commission recommend adoption of
this resolution.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Manager is hereby authorized to execute Contract Addendum Number 2, Runway 17-35

Rehabilitation and Miscellaneous Improvements, in the amount of $200,000 with Campbell
Pads Engineers in a form acceptable to the Town Attorney.
