November 4, 1982
Members present: Cannity, Cox, Goodwin, Holman, Page, Sheffield and Wagner.

Frank Sheffield called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. He welcomed Ronald
Wagner to the Planning Board. Sheffield read a letter he had written thanking
Reverend Carter for his work on the Planning Board.
Item 1- Zoning Map: Several of the Planning Board members had recently discussed
researching the history of the Zoning Map and verifying that it is official. The
research would possibly update the map and make sure that all changes adopted were
made. Nancy Goodwin will chair the committee; Hilda Brody will assist her; and
they would work with the Town Clerk and the Zoning Officer to recommend action
on the Zoning Map and identify any irregularities. They may. come up with a list
of non -conformities, mainly commercial activities in residential areas. They
may also come up with places like the Willie Laws' property which was commercial
before the Zoning Map was prepared. The committee would recommend further action.
Sheffield suggested hiring a part-time graduate student to work on this research.
Cannity suggested that a new zoning map could be adopted as part of the zoning
amendments adoption. Cox gave the history of the zoning map. A 1979 zoning map
was adopted at the time the ordinance was adopted.._ It was professionally drawn
up in 1980 at Triangle J COG. Changes have been made when the Town Board adopted
changes.
Item 2- Rezoning Procedures: Discussion of the rezoning procedures used by the
Zoning Office resulted in amendments to the procedure and adoption of the procedures
as amended. (Attached copy)

December, 1982 and in January, 1983. If variances are needed, applications will
have to be in to the Board Adjustment by December 6, 1982.
