A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED January 28, 2003 2003-19 ADOPTED January 28, 2003 AMENDING SECTION 12.1-10-11 OF THE PERSONNEL MANUAL REGARDING THE CLASSIFICATION OF EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg is committed to a fair and equitable classification plan; and WHEREAS, position descriptions change from time to time; and WHEREAS, adjustments to single job classifications often have minimal or no budgetary impact; and WHEREAS, The Town Council will still review and approve the annual Pay and Classification Plan submitted as part of the annual budget; and WHEREAS, staff recommends approval. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: Section 1. Chapter 12,1, Article 3, ClassificatiOn Plan, is hereby amended as follows: Sec. 12.1-10. Position Specifications The Town Manager shall issue and revise as necessary position specifications for each position within the town service which shall be on file with the Office of Human Resources Sec. 12.1-11. Plan Review (a) Plan Review by Town Council The entire classification plan shall be reviewed on an annual basis by the Town Manager and t~-~met-Director of Human Resources and recommendations for amendment -2- RESOLUTION: AMENDING SECTIONS 12.10-11 OF THE PERSONNEL MANUAL REGARDING THE CLASSIFICATION OF EMPLOYEES thereto submitted to the Town Council for approval in accordance with these rules. The purpose of such a review shall be to determine if the plan accurately reflects the work being performed, and that the positions are properly classified with regard to: (1) Knowledge. (2) Supervision exercised - scope of responsibility. (3) Scope and effect of decisions and actions. (4) Problem solving and complexity/nature and extent of guidelines. (5) Application of authority. (6) Purpose and nature of work contacts. (7) Physical and sensory demands and hazards.
