REQUESTING THAT THE LOUDOUN COUNTY BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS FORGWE THE CONSTRUCTION LOAN OF THE
LEESBURG VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY FOR THE PLAZA STREET
STATION
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company provides fire protection to the town and
surrounding environs; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company owes approximately one million in
construction loans for the construction of the Plaza Street Station; and
WHEREAS, the County has paid for new fire and rescue facilities in Broadlands and South
Riding; and
WHEREAS, Leesburg taxpayers are subsidizing the Broadlands and South Riding facilities
at the same time fire company volunteers are asking for contributions to assist with debt payments.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Council requests that the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors forgive the construction
loans of the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company for the Plaza Street Station.
