ENCOURAGING THE LOUDOUN COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD TO USE
AN ALTERNATIVE NAME OTHER THAN FREEDOM HIGH SCHOOL
FOR HIGH SCHOOL #2
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg will dedicate Freedom Park near Heritage High School
on April 5, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County School Board is considering naming the high school in
South Riding HS-2 as Freedom High School with alternate suggestions of Poland Ridge High
School or John S. Mosby High School; and
WHEREAS, users of athletic fields at both Freedom Park and the new high school site could
become confused over the location of various events.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
encourages the Loudoun County School Board to use an alternative name other than Freedom High
School for the HS-2 high school site in South Riding.
