REQUESTING THAT THE LOUDOUN COUNTY BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS MAKE A GIFT TO THE LOUDOUN COUNTY
VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD FOR THE CATOCTIN CIRCI.E
STATION IN LIEU OF A LOAN
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad (the "Rescue Squad") provides
rescue services to the town and surrounding environs; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun County is considering a loan application of the Rescue Squad for the
expansion and renovation of the Catoctin Circle Station; and
WHEREAS, the County has paid for new fire and rescue facilities in Broadlands and South
Riding; and
WHEREAS, Leesburg taxpayers are subsidizing the Broadlands and South Riding facilities
at the same time rescue squad volunteers are asking for contributions to assist with debt payments.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Council requests that the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors make a gift to the
Rescue Squad for the Catoctin Circle Station in the amount of and in lieu of the pending loan.
