Meeting at Town Hall
Convened at 7:38 PM
Members present: Judy Co2C;: Chair; Hilda Brody, Josephine Holman, Frank Sheffield, Larry
Carter, Myron Martin, Rick Cannity

Item #I- Addition to Minutes- Resignation, Landfill,Moratorium
Item #Ia- Mrs. Cox read a letter of resignation from Dr. H.W.Moore, effective March 4,
1982. Motion by Mr. Martin, second by Hilda Brody to accept. Motion passed.
Chairman Cox cited Dr. Moore's long term of service to the Town and directed
for a letter of Commendation be written.
Item 2- Committee Reports:
Myron Martin reported that there was a need for the Town Board to address the
issue of a Noise Ordinance. Martin motion, " That the Planning Board ask the
Town Board to enact a Noise Ordinance due to projected population density and
potential future conflict." Second by Frank Sheffield. Motion passed.
#2b- Judy Cox read a written report of the Goodwin Committee submitted by Nancy Goodwin
who could not be present. Next meeting scheduled for the Committee was to be
March 11, but it was noted that there were Precinct Meetings set for that night.
Josephine Holman asked to be relieved from service on the Goodwin Committee due
to her heavy schedule.
#2c- Hilda Brody reported on her Green Box Committee. Site locations, disposal facility
and general maintainence were discussed. Mrs. Brody's committee will continue
to deal with the issue.
Item #3- Board of Adjustment Report . Mrs. Cox reported on the BOA memo for help with
Customary Home Occupation. Chairman Cox appointed Rick Cannity to chair a
committee to revise the Definition of Customary Home Occupation. Permitted
Use Tables were discussed. Adverse impact on neighborhoods was also discussed.
Item #4- Rick Haug presented the concern of Dr. John Seelye about indiscriminate land-
fills in the area, particularily the historic district. After discussion, it
was decided to include the matter in the amendment process of the Zoning Ordin-
ance. Permits, stabilization and expansion were ideas presented to help in
the matter.
Item #5- CCB issue is still pending.
Item #6- Rick Haug asked the Planning Board to give thought to a moratorium on develop-
ment in the S/W quadrant beyond Interstate 85. Density of multifamily units
is creating a potential problem in relAtion to good planning. The Planning
Board felt that the populace should pursue the matter with the Town Board.
