UPPER CHARLES TRAIL COMMITTEE

MINUTES
Members present: Ken Parker, Chair, Bob Snyder, Eric Sonnett, Jane Moran, Mike Resteghini,
Gary Trendel
Members absent: John Coutinho, Jeff Barnes
Associate members present: Dave O’Brien, Barry Rosenbloom
Other Hopkinton citizen present: Ray Fryer
Conway School phase 2 project team: Jordan Clark, Alex Krafta
1. Conway School Master Plan review: Jordan asked if there were any questions on the now
nearly finalized phase 1 report. Jordan talked about the phase 2 objectives: routing,
establishing costs, and site scale designs. Gary proposed that we focus on the Milford to
Center Trail segment and on the planning of the public outreach initiatives. In contemplating
the public outreach costs, Gary wondered what the Hopkinton Visioning Committee had
spent on their effort. Jane declared that the overall report exceeded her expectations and also
acknowledged the importance of the community meetings. She suggested that we reach out
to collaborate with the Downtown Revitalization Committee (DRC). Jordan noted that the
trail segment connecting downtown to Center Trail may be the most feasible section. Eric
suggested that the Conway team meet with DRC to find out “where they are” at this time.
UCTC members agreed that the priorities going forward were (1) coordinating with DRC and
(2) preparing for community meetings.
2. Walking tour before the 4/22 meeting: Ken, Jordan, and Alex walked from Center School to
the Pulte homes in Legacy Farms via Prestwick Drive. They also walked the Loop Road area
on the high school campus.
3. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30PM.
