ENDORSING CONGRESSMAN FRANK WOLF'S EFFORTS TO ENHANCE
SAFETY AT LEESBURG EXECUTIVE AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Town Council wishes to enhance safety at the Leesburg Executive
Airport, through, among other measures, the acquisition and installation of a precision landing system,
known as an Instrument Landing System or ILS; and
WHEREAS, in March 2003, U.S. Congressman Frank Wolf offered his strong support for
enhancing safety at the Leesburg Executive Airport and has since that time actively worked to secure
federal funds for the installation of an ILS at Leesburg Executive Airport; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Leesburg Town Council to fully support and express our
deepest appreciation for Congressman Wolf's efforts.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Council of the Town of Leesburg in
Virginia hereby formally endorse and encourage the efforts of Congressman Frank Wolf to (1) secure
federal funds for the acquisition and installation of an ILS system at Leesburg Executive Airport along
with any funds necessary for land acquisition in the furtherance of this goal; and (2) pursue initiatives that
could expedite the process of ILS acquisition and installation at the Leesburg Executive Airport.
