HomeMy Public PortalAbout2003_05_13_r080The Town of ] .eesburg, lrglnla PRESENTED ~ RESOLUTION NO. 2003'80 ADOPTED May 13:2003 A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE LEESBURG ZONING ORDINANCE SECTION 12.8~5 MODIFICATION OF SCREENING AND BUFFER-YARD REQUIREMENTS WHEREAS, the goals and objectives of the 1997 Leesburg Town Plan include the provision of appropriate landscaping and screening between different land uses; and WHEREAS, to provide appropriate landscaping and screening it is necessary to provide an opportunity to Council to consider modification of landscaping and screening requirements as part of consideration of a special exception application; and WHEREAS, it is the desire and intent of Council to consider amendments to the screening and buffer yard modifications of the Leesburg Zoning Ordinance to establish this authority; and WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice require the proposed amendments. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. The following amendments are hereby initiated and referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation: 12.8..~ Modification of ,¢lcreening and Ruffer-Ynrd Ren?ir~mentq F. SpeCial Exceptions. All uses allowed by special exception in a given district shall be required to provide buffer yards as determined by the Town Council, using the Section 12.8.3 ,qcreening and lquffer Yard Matrix and Section 12.8.5 B. Usable Lot Area, C. Special Design, and D. Construction of Walls as guides. SECTION Il. The Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing to consider these amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, and report its recommendation to the Town Council RESOLUTION: -2- INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE LEESBURG ZONING ORDINANCE SECTION 12.8.5 MODIFICATION OF SCREENING AND BUFFER-YARD REQUIREMENTS pursuant to Chapter 22, Title 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended.
