HomeMy Public PortalAbout5.6.1982 Planning Board MinutesPlanning Board Minutes May 6, 1982 Meeting convened at 7:30 PM Members present: Judy Cox, Hilda Brody, Josephine Holman, Myron Martin, Rick Cannity, Larry Carter, Frank Sheffield. New member present Ms. Barbara Page Others: Arthur Plambeck Frank Sheffield was elected as Chairman of the Planning Board. Myron Martin was elected as Vice -Chairman. Myron Martin reported the footings at the Byrd Food Store site were 25 feet from the property line. Had heard that there were soil and erosion control problems. Asked for Rick Haug, Zoning Officer, to check the problem and enforce the ordinance. Mrs. Brody noted that the loading dock was in.the rear buffer zone. It was decided to have a delegation of the Planning Board inspect the site on Friday afternoon. Motion by Myron Martin to send a certified letter to Byrd's Food Store, Inc. re; concerns of the Planning Board about possible violations of the Zoning Ordinance and to have Byrd's (Mack Smith) contact Rick Haug on Monday, May 10, 1982 regarding same. Second by Hilda Brody. Motion carried. Someone is to contact MAck Smith or Max Kennedy on Friday, The delegation to inspect is to be composed of Mr. Carter, Mrs. Brody, Mr. Martin. They will report back to the Board. The Zoning Officer will be requested to revoke the zoning permit for Byrd's if out of compliance. Thomas Merritt Courtesy Review for County Planning. There is to be a public hearing on lay 24, 1982 at the Court House on same. The Planning Board expressed its concern about the traffic at the intersection of Hwy 70 and ST. Mary's Road. The County is to be asked to take special care re: ingress and egress to property in question. Rick Haug is to notif} County by letter of same. Green Box Committe Report by Hilda Brody. Ms. Brody noted that Commissioner Smith was negative on propositions A through D and concering boxes on private property and being privately owned. Discussion followed and a request for the committee to extend its investigation of matter and make a report at the next meeting. Discussion on the North Hills area, the general unsightly scene and possible health hazards were discussed. The Board determined to call the Town Board members and discuss same. The Section 8 Committee reported in the absence of Nancy Goodwin. The next meeting is slated for Wed. May 12. Discussion about duplexes, permitted districts for same and lot size followed. Section 9 Committee- Frank Sheffield. A mobile home rating system was discussed as well as the advisability of requiring removal of tongues and wheels. This could create an. undesirable ghetto section when the mobile homes couldn't be moved. Perhaps there could be requirements for foundations but leave wheels and tongues. Section 10 Committee. Chaired by Judy Cox is making progress and are meeting on demand. Home Occupations Committee is to reconvene June 3, 1982 . Meeting Adjourned.
