A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED July 8, 2003 2003- 112 ADOPTED July 8, 2003 AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT WITH THE ARCHITECT TO DESIGN AN ADDITIONAL 6,500 SQ. FT. OF SPACE FOR THE ADDITION TO TOWN HALL WHEREAS, employee work space in the Leesburg Government Center, also known as Town Hall, is becoming scarce as the town government has added staff to serve a growing population; and WHEREAS, the town has retained Bowie Gridley Architects for architect and engineering services throughout the construction of the Loudoun Addition to Town Hall; and WHEREAS, the Council has previously approved $375,000 in Utility Fund monies in the FY 2002 midyear budget for architect and engineering design services; WHEREAS, the Council desires first floor retail space to be incorporated into the design; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the town manager that the Council authorize an additional amount from the Utility Fund not to exceed $120,000 to address a revised design known as Option B2 for an additional 6,500 gross square feet. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the town manager is hereby authorized to amend a contract in a form approved by the town attorney with Bowie Gridley Architects, in the amount not to exceed $120,000 in Utility Funds to address a revised design known as Option B2 for an additional 6,500 gross square feet for architect and engineering services for the Loudoun Street Addition to Town Hall.
