January 16, 1956
The Council of Bal Harbour Village met nt the Village Hall, Monday,
January 16, 1056 at 7:00 o'clock P. M.
There were present: Messrs. Beatty, Brown, Collins and Landis
Absent; Mr. Broeman
Also present were W. H. Webb, Village Manager and Mary Wett.erer, Village
Clerk,
The minutes of the previ=us meeting of December 19, 1955 were approved
as submitted.
On motion of Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Collins it was agreed to recess
the meeting for dinner.
After dinner the council reconvened the meeting and Mr. Webb said he had
a letter from the Town of Bay Harbor Islands nsking that Bal Harbour allow them
to nlace a directional sign to the Broad Causemny on Bal. Harbour property. After
discussion it was moved by Mr. Brown, seconded Yr. Landis, and unanimously
voted that Pny Harbor Islands be granted permission to Place their sign on the
north east corner of West Bal. Hnrhour Prul.evard and 96th Street rn a year to
Year basis with a nrovisirn ''or ?. sixty dny canr'ellat'on notice.
Mr. P.rown said that he would like to see the contract for the village hnl.l
let as soon ns possible nrd after discussion it was moved by Mr. Brown, seconded
by Mr. Landis, that Mr. Webb would contact the office of Carlos B. Schoeppl to
crmnlete the plans ns soon as possible and get b'ds to be reviewed by the council
for conshruct.'on to start by April 1st of t.h`s year, and unanimously ^oted.
The matter of the fire pumper was considered and Mr. 'Webb said that, the
low bidder land been the American LaFrance Com-any. It Baas moved by Mr. Brown,
seconded by 44r. Collins and unanimoualy voted that the American LaFrance Company
weld be contacted to see if their bid would still hold and if so they would be
given the order, otherwis> new bids should he gotten on the equipment.
There being no further business on motion of Mr. Landis, seconded by Mr.
Collins, the meeting n.djrurned.
