AUTHORIZING TIME EXTENSIONS FOR COMPLETION OF PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENTS AND APPROVING PERFORMANCE GUARANTEES
FOR POTOMAC STATION SECTIONS 5, 6H, 7A/7B, 8A, 8C, 8H, 9A AND
9B
WHEREAS, Engle Homes/Virginia, Inc., the developer of Potomac Station Sections 5, 6H,
7A/7B, 8A, 8C, 8H, 9A and 9B has not completed all the required public improvements in accordance
with the approved construction drawings and town standards within the two-year period agreed to in
the contract for public improvements and previously approved time extensions; and
WHEREAS, the developer has requested a time extension to complete the public
improvements; and
WHEREAS, Potomac Station Sections 5, 6H, and 715 are located in Loudoun County and the
town's bonded improvements are water and sanitary sewer only; and
WHEREAS, corporate surety bonds fi.om the Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of
America in the amount of $20,076.70 for Section 5; in the amount of $51,432.40 for Section 6H; in
the amount of $63,352.00 for Section 7A/7B; in the mount of $118,896.50 for Section 8A; in the
amount of $34,804.30 for Section 8C; in the amount of $74,069.60 for Section 8H; in the amount of
$93,377.42 for Section 9A; and in the amount of $85,941.21 for Section 9B were provided by the
developer to guarantee the installation of public improvements; and
WHEREAS, the town's Director of Engineering and Public Works recommends a time
extension to September 30, 2004; and

5, 6H, 7A/7B, 8A, 8C, 8H, 9A AND 9B
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The corporate surety bonds from the Travelers Casualty and Surety Company
of America in the mount of $20,076.70 for Section 5; in the amount of $51,432.40 for Section 6H; in
the amount of $63,352.00 for Section 7A/7B; in the amount of $118,896.50 for Section 8A; in the
amount of $34,804.30 for Section 8C; in the amount of $74,069.60 for Section 8H; in the amount of
$93,377.42 for Section 9A; and in the amount of $85,941.21 for Section 9B are approved to
guarantee the installation of public improvements in Potomac Station Sections 5, 6H, 7A/7B, SA, 8C,
8H, 9A and 9B.
SECTION II. Time extensions to September 30, 2004 for Potomac Station Sections 5, 6H,
7A/7B, 8A, 8C, 8H, 9A and 9B for completion of the public improvements are approved.
