A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED ADOPTED February 24, 2004 February 24, 2004 2006-22 SUPPORTING THE CREATION OF A MEMORIAL HONORING HEROS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR. WHEREAS, there is no memorial honoring heroes of the American Revolution in Loudoun County; and WHEREAS, the Patriot Project of the Loudoun Revolutionary War Memorial Committee has a mission to honor the Loudoun participants in the Revolutionary War and inform the public of the culture and spirit that created the enduring governing instruments of the United States; and WHEREAS, the United States is increasingly facing national and international crisises demanding the wisdom of the Founding Fathers; and WHEREAS, our nation is called upon to be the world leader; and WHEREAS, immigrants from non-traditional cultures are requiring assimilation into our culture; and WHEREAS, the world community has long recognized the economic, political and social success of our system. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia endorses the Patriot Project mission to honor the Loudoun participants in the Revolution. FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Leesburg Town Council endorses the Patriot Project effort to erect a memorial honoring the Loudoun participants in the Revolutionary War by encouraging town citizens to support the Patriot Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be posted on the town's website and be distributed to the local media. PASSED this 24th day of February 2004.
