A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A REVISED POLE SIGN FOR THE
PROPERTY AT 148 CATOCTIN CIRCLE, S.E.
WHEREAS, Council adopted Resolution No. 2000-110 on June 13, 2000 to allow
Holtzman Amoco to erect a pole sign due to unusual building site conditions caused by the Capital
Improvements Project for Catoctin Circle; and
WHEREAS, the previously approved pole sign was approved specifically for Amoco,
which was subsequently purchased by BP Oil; and
WHEREAS, BP Oil requires all Amoco gas station signs to be replaced which necessitates
structural alteration to the existing pole sign; and
WHEREAS, when unusual building site conditions prOhibit the ability to obtain effective
signage, the Zoning Administrator may issue sign permits which comply with the intent of Article
15 upon authorization from the Town Council in accordance with Zoning Ordinance Section
15.9.7; and
WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice
require the proposed authorization.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. Authorization is hereby given for a pole sign to be erected at 148 Catoctin
Circle, S.E. The following limitations regarding the sign shall apply:
1.' The P°le sign sh~il be no taller than 19 feet- 8 inches(19'8").
2. The area of the signage shall not exceed 40 square feet.

3. The sign shall be comprised of (1) a logo sign; (2) a gasoline price sign; and (3) a
center mount pole to which the logo sign and price sign shall be attached.
4. In case of future business name changes at this location, the Zoning Administrator
may approve the sign permit based on compliance with Conditions 1 through 3 above.
