1. Call to Order
Chair Larry Brandhorst called the meeting to order at 9:34 am.
2. Review and Approve minutes of the meeting held January 18,2017. A quorum was not
achieved for the meeting scheduled for February 1,2017.
The committee approved the minutes.
3. Old Business—Review list of proposed amendments
None were noted for changes. Columbia sprinklers were discussed.
4. Start review of Chapters 16 and 17.
The committee went over Chapters 16, 17 and 18. Dave Weber led the discussion on what
Columbia reviewed and pointed out some specific sections of the code they reviewed. Mr.
Weber pointed out some structural requirements in the IFC that dealt with live loads of fire
escapes(Chapter 11)and temporary structures(Chapter 31). Some sections of the IBC chapters
were discussed at length. Section 1803.2 discusses requirements for geotechnical reports and
Chapter 17 discusses requirements for Special Inspections.
5. New Business—next meeting assignment
The committee will discuss Chapters 16, 17 and 18 to see if any changes need to be addressed.

The next meeting date will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, March 1,2017.

The meeting adjourned at 11:40 am.
Proposed Amendments to the 2015 International Building Code:
1. Section 305.2.3— Replace "five"with "ten"throughout this section.
2. Section 308.6.4— Replace "five"with "ten"throughout this section.
3. Section 402— Does this Section include "strip malls?"
4. Section 420.5— Review automatic sprinkler system for Group R occupancies.
5. Section 906.11- Sale of fire extinguishers: Fire extinguishers that do not carry an Underwriter's
Laboratory label and rating shall not be offered for sale or trade within the City.
6. Section 1011.4 — Measurement of walk line? Does this this include the entire width of the stair or
clear width?
7. Section 1015.2 — Guard should also be provided for site features where people still have a chance
of falling.
8. Chapter 13—discuss partial adoption of the Energy Code
