The evening will start off with the Rob Byer Band, a mix of modern (more) TOL PR 2012-06-18 Independence Day celebration Page 2 country sounds. Coming straight off their tour of Key West, Florida, the Rob Byer Band is a great way to get Leesburg rocking. Get ready to continue to rock the night away with the return of Faded Image, a rockin’ band from the Baltimore area that plays a mix of tunes from 80’s to country to classic rock. You name it, they play it. The band has been featured all over the region, including headlining at Sloppy Joes in Key West, Florida, as well as the Hard Rock Café in Baltimore. Be sure to grab a bite at the event as plenty of food vendors will be on hand. Nothing goes better with the 4th of July than burgers, hotdogs, and funnel cake. Other culinary favorites include barbecue, smoothies, and ice cream. The biggest bang of the evening begins at 9:30pm when the largest fireworks show in the region will light up the sky. Choreographed to patriotic music, this light show is not to be missed. Parking is available at the interior lots off Ida Lee Drive, and the festival field parking off King Street. The Town of Leesburg staff will work hard to insure that as many vehicles as possible are parked in the park, so attendees are asked to be patient while waiting to enter and exit. The Town also reminds our guests to use designated cross walks. Leesburg Fire and Rescue Volunteers will be on site to provide medical assistance if needed. Coolers and large bags are permitted but will be checked at gate entrances. Pets, alcohol, glass bottles and personal fireworks (including sparklers) are not permitted. In the event of rain, fireworks will be rescheduled for July 5th at 9:30pm. No other activities will be rescheduled. Special thanks to our 2012 Independence Day Sponsors, including Toth Financial and Leesburg Today/Ashburn Today newspapers.
