A RESOLUTION:
IN RECOGNITION AND SUPPORT OF LEESBURG CROSSROADS,
INC. AND DESIGNATING LEESBURG CROSSROADS, INC. AS THE
OFFICIAL MAIN STREET ORGANIZATION FOR THE TOWN OF
LEESBURG
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Town Council supports enhancing Leesburg's position as
Loudoun County's historic, tourist and commercial center; and
WHEREAS, the Town Plan encourages the preservation and revitalization of the
downtown Old and Historic District; and
WHEREAS, in December 2001, the Leesburg Town Council passed a resolution in
support of the concept of the Main Street Loudoun Partnership, a countywide umbrella program
to address the economic development and preservation activities of the towns, villages and
commercial districts in Loudoun County; and
WHEREAS, since that time, representatives of the Town of Leesburg, working through
the Leesburg Economic Development Commission, have been active participants in the
development of the Main Street Loudoun Partnership; and
WHEREAS, the National Trust for Historic Preservation has created a successful model
for downtown revitalization in the National Main Street Program; and
WHEREAS, the Main Street Loudoun Partnership has adopted the National Main Street
Program model and encourages the participating towns to create their own Main Street
organizations; and

WHEREAS, Leesburg Crossroads, Inc. has formed as an independent non-profit
organization dedicated to the revitalization of Leesburg's historic downtown:
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
recognizes and supports the mission of Leesburg Crossroads, Inc.; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
designates Leesburg Crossroads, Inc. as the official Main Street organization for the Town of
Leesburg.
