The BREWSTER AGRICULTURAL COMMISSION
Held Thursday January 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
At the Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main Street, Room C
Present: Peter Herrmann, Heather Mangelinkx, Jack Latham, Rebecca Howes and Dave
Carlson
Mr. Herrmann called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Minutes of the November 15, 2007 meeting were accepted and unanimously approved by
the board.
Mr. Herrmann reported that the Board of Health would still like to meet with us. Mr.
Carlson suggested that 2 members go and take their questions so that we can do the
research to answer their questions. Mr. Miller said he will inform them that they already
have a copy of the research he had previously done pertaining to horses, manure and
dwelling drainage. Mr. Herrmann will set up a date to meet with them.
Mr. Bassett had asked the agricultural commission to set up a farmers market. Mr.
Herrmann gave him the information about setting up and running a farmers market.
Mr. Herrmann reported that the Community Gardens on Lower Road owned by the
Brewster Conservation Trust is talking about expanding the gardens and is looking for
someone to manage the gardens. The board suggested they needed to advertise about
space being available in the gardens.
Mr. Carlson motioned to adjourn the meeting at 9:00, Mr. Latham seconded and all
agreed.
