NIINUTES of the MEETING of The BREWSTER AGRICULTURAL COMMISSION Held Thursday February 28, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. ~ 8 A~R 8 ~ :30 At the Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main ~treet,7Zoom t~ Present: Peter Herrmann, Heather Mangelinkx, Jack Latham, Rebecca Howes and Dave Carlson, Julie Trzcinski, Bob Speakman Mr. Hemnann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the January 24, 2008 meeting were accepted and unanimously approved by the board. Ms Trzcinski reported for the manure management committee that she is still trying to locate a copy of the Barnstable County Regulations to submit to the Board of Health. She will try to get a copy for the next meeting so that the Ag. Committee can see the difference between the Barnstable County and Mr. Miller's plan which the Board of Health already has a copy. She would like the Ag. Committee to vote on accepting Mr. Miller's plan at the next meeting. Katie Cavanagh & Sarah Cogswell were to be at this meeting to discuss Farms Forever Programs and Buying Local, however they did not attend. Mr. Herrmann handed out information about the Erickson case that will be coming up at the next meeting. Board members were unfamiliar with this case so were not prepared to make any decisions about the issues. We did discuss what information we need for the next meeting, what is permitted in her zone, conservation agent checking on river frontage issues etc. From the information provided we recommend she withdraw her board of appeals application at this time. The next meeting we will try to get a neighborhood representative to discuss the issues and find out what they would like her to do and what she is allowed. Mr. Hemnann will get a packet together with all the information and perhaps have Victor Staley and Steve Spears at the meeting to help with zoning information and ground water issues. Jack Latham motioned to have Dave Carlson as the Vice Chairman for the Ag. Committee, Rebecca Howes seconded the motion and all members agreed. Mr. Herrmann mentioned that Linda Delorey was interested in setting up a farmers market at the Unitarian Church, he will let her know that he has given the information to Mr. Bassett to see if they would like to work together on that. Mr. Latham motioned to adjourn the meeting at 9:15, Ms Howes seconded and all agreed. Respectfully submitted, Heather Mangelinkx Approved /~?w~c%, ~ ~ n ~ ~ _
