APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT No. 3140-FY04-829 TO CH2M
HILL, INC. FOR SERVICES DURING CONSTRUCTION FOR THE
WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY CAPITAL PROJECT, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2,843,000
WHEREAS, expansion of the Water Pollution Control Facility to 7.5 million gallons per
day is an approved project in the FY 2004-2008 Capital Improvements Program; and
WHEREAS, a request for proposals for Services During Construction (SDC) was prepared and
duly advertised in the local newspapers and mailed to prospective engineering firms; and
WHEREAS, two engineering firms submitted proposals for the work; and
WHEREAS, a committee selected CH2M Hill, Inc. as the most qualified candidate to perform
SDC for a negotiated amount not to exceed $2,843,000; and
wHEREAS, adequate funds have been appropriated by Council in the FY 2004 and 2005 budgets
to fund the contract; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Utilities recommends approval of this engineering service contract in
the amount of $2,843,000.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Town Manager is hereby authorized to execute contract 3140-FY04-829 with CH2M Hill
Inc. in the amount of $2,843,000, in a form approved by the Town Attorney, on July 1, 2004 or thereafter.
