Minutes for the October 17, 2008 meeting were formally accepted. Brian Ladley brought a few handouts from CORD's fair in October. One was the "Say What" sheet, which lists the most proper way to refer to people with disabilities. Our committee decided that it was a good idea to put one on the bulletin board at Town Hall. Also distributed was a pamphlet on "VITAL", a program for vision impaired technology assistance at the Brooks Free Library, and lastly a sheet listing assistive technology catalogs dated 11 /2007. Update on Survey: 60 were returned; 28 of those had some type of disability. A summary of the survey will be recorded along with these meeting minutes. It was mentioned that Ardeo's Restaurant on Underpass Road had not only complied with the handicap parking regulations but also paved their handicap parking spot. The Chair will write a letter thanking them for their consideration. The remainder of the meeting was spent in doing an on-site evaluation re accessibility of the departments in Town Hall. The information gathered will be discussed at our next meeting. Our next meeting will be held on December 19, 2008, at the COA. Meeting adjourned at 3:45 pm.
