A special meeting to discuss the Mass. Memories Road Show project was called to order
at 10:04 AM at Brewster Ladies Library, Suzanne Teuteberg, Pat Busch, Sally Gunning,
Kathleen Remillard, Mitzi Unger, Ellen Davies, and Ellen St. Sure in attendance.
After discussion of the value of the program, its pertinence to our mission, and the time
and money involved, a sense of the group was taken as to each member's willingness to
commit time and effort, and the response being largely positive it was moved, seconded
and voted with six ayes and one abstention that the Brewster Archives Committee
sponsor a Mass. Memories Road Show on Sept. 13, 2008, from 12-4 PM at the Brewster
Ladies Library.
The responsibilities were then divided up and co-coordinators volunteered as follows:
Co-Directors: Kathleen Remillard and Sally Gunning
(Handle application process, reserve venue, front communication with MSP, collect
volunteers, etc.)
Refreshments: Ellen Davies
(Arrange for lunch for approximately 25 volunteers as well as coffee, tea and cookies or
the like for visitors to event)
Community History: Pat Busch and Teresa Lamperti
(Co-ordinate and staff the Local History Booth, develop the three-panel Brewster
brochure, [provide maps?]
Publicity: Suzanne Teuteberg (with additional volunteers)
(Arrange for flyers, posters, [BAC brochure?] TV, radio, newspaper notice)
Fundraising: Mitzi Unger
(Provide funding for the $250 advance fee due in August and other funds for publicity
Mitzi Unger will loop in town administrator Charlie Sumner.
As much of the next three monthly meetings will be devoted to MMRS business it was
voted to put regular business on the back burner until fall. Invitations to Steve Farrar,
Harwich Town Clerk Anita Doucette, and a representative from Brown's River will all be
postponed until that time.
The next meeting will be held July 7t~ at 10 AM at the library.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:30.
