A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING
THE PARKS, RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES MASTER PLAN FOR THE CITY OF
CARSON
WHEREAS, since its incorporation, the City of Carson has not undertaken an extensive evaluation
of its Community Services-related facilities, programs, and services to ensure that it is meeting the needs
of the community. To fill this gap in understanding and insight, the Department embarked on an
assessment of its sites and operations with the assistance of a qualified consultant, RJM Design; and
WHEREAS, this endeavor began on August 26, 2021, and proceeding activities included data
collection, 6 workshops, and multiple surveys; and
WHEREAS, this project revealed a wealth of information on community preference and needs;
and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Master Plan is now complete, with
recommendations largely focused on expanding recreational opportunities and a greater emphasis on
deferred maintenance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Carson, California, adopts the Parks,
Recreation, and Community Services Master Plan for the City of Carson.
