Town of Leesburg R04:VML2005 PrelProgram RESOLUTION NO. 200Z~-156 A RESOLUTION: GENERALLY SUPPORTING THE VIRGINIA MUNICIPAL LEAGUE PRELIMINARY 2005 LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Virginia Municipal League is an organization devoted to supporting and promoting the interests of local governments in Virginia; and WHEREAS, the Virginia Municipal League produces an annual preliminary legislative program and policy statements to reflect the interests of communities throughout the Commonwealth and help educate Federal and State officials regarding policy impacting Virginia towns, cities, and counties; and WHEREAS, the Preliminary 2005 Legislative Program addresses the priorities of Transportation, Finance, General Laws, Environmental Quality, and Human Development and Education; and WHEREAS, all of these matters are of important to the quality of life of Leesburg residents and the long-term economic, social, and physical viability of our community; and WHEREAS, Councilmember Kathryn S. Hammler will represent the town during the deliberations to prioritize and vote on the positions listed in VML's 2005 Preliminary Program during the League's Annual Conference October 3-5; and THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby generally supports the Virginia Municipal League's Preliminary 2005 Legislative Program and the policy
