ENDORSING THE "HANDBOOK FOR BOARDS, COMMISSIONS,
AND COMMITTEES AND AUTHORIZING THE CHANGES IN
PRACTICE RESULTING FROM THIS ENDORSEMENT
REGARDING THE OPERATION OF THE TOWN'S ADVISORY
GROUPS
WHEREAS, the Town Council greatly appreciates the time and effort put forth by the
members of the Town's advisory groups in their service to the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to provide the members of the advisory groups
with a handbook that will provide them with guidance regarding the Town's expectations for
their service on their respective advisory groups; and
WHEREAS, the "Handbook for Boards, Commissions and Committees" has been
developed to provide such guidance to the members of the Town's advisory groups; and
WHEREAS, the "Handbook for Boards, Commissions and Committees" has been
reviewed by the chairpersons and staff liaisons for the Town's advisory groups; and
WHEREAS, the list presented in Item A represents the changes in practice that will be
associated with the Council endorsement of the "Handbook for Boards, Commissions and
Committees".
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that:
The Town Council hereby endorses the "Handbook for Boards, Commissions and Committees"
to provide guidance regarding the operation of the Town's advisory groups, in conjunction with
the applicable provisions of the Town Code and the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
PASSED this 26th day of October 2004.
