RESOLUTION NO. 2006-182 ADOPTED: November 9, 2004
RESOLUTION: AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 96-212 RELATING TO ETHICS POLICY
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to amend Resolution No. 96-212 in order to
strengthen its ethics policy.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
Section I of Resolution No. 96-212 is amended to provide as follows:
Section I. Council Activities Reporting

Councilmembers shall disclose any communication with an individual or
group regarding a rezoning or special exception application that it has
submitted, or proposes to submit, to the town and a bid or proposal on a
contract requiring Council approval that it has submitted, or proposes to
submit to the town. "Communication" shall include, without limitation, a
meeting, telephone call, letter, memo or email.

Councilmembers shall disclose any event attended where such event was
paid for by an individual or group having a matter requiring disclosure
under Section (A) above.

Such discloSures shall be made verbally at the next regular Council
meeting attended. In addition, a disclosure statement in the form of
Exhibit A shall be submitted to the Clerk of Council, in writing or
electronically, on or before the next regular Council meeting. Such
statements shall be open to the public and shall be retained by the Clerk
for at least two years.
