HomeMy Public PortalAboutBuilding & Needs Assessment -- 2008-06-18 MinutesBuilding Needs & Assessment Committee June 18, 2008 - 8:30 am Call to order Bob Miller called to order the regular meeting of the Town of Brewster: Building Needs & Assessment Committee at 8:30 am on June 18, 2008 in Brewster Town Hall. Roll call The following BNAC members were present: Bob Miller, Herb Montgomery, Don Poole, Omer Dumas and Charlie Sumner. The purpose of this meeting is to review and rate the architectural candidates for the Fire Station. Bob Miller rated Donham & Sweeney as his first choice. He liked the references and the fire chief's letter, rated at 74. Maguire Group was a 69 and the second choice. Brown, Lindquist, Fenuccio &Raber Architects, INC. was the third choice with 52. KAESTLE BOOS Associates, Inc rated at fourth choice with a score of 47. Paul Bradford ranked Maguire Group, Donham & Sweeney, Brown, Lindquist Fenuccio & Raber Architects, INC and then KAESTLE BOOS Associates, Inc. Don Poole agreed with this assessment. He mentioned that Maguire Group had tremendous experience. Omer Dumas also ranked Maguire Group as the top candidate with Donham & Sweeney a very close second. 90 points for Maguire Group and 88 points for Donham & Sweeney. Brown, Lindquist Fenuccio &Raber Architects, INC. received 68 points, somewhat ill prepared. Richard Kosinski liked their proposal but missed a portion of the interview. Donham & Sweeney was highly rated with some concerns about sub-contractors. KAESTLE BOOS Associates, Inc had a lot of experience, but their chief sub did not attend the meeting. He rated Donham & Sweeney, Maguire Group, Brown, Lindquist, Fenuccio & Raber Architects, INC. and KAESTLE BOOS Associates, Inc in this order. Herb Montgomery ranked Donham & Sweeney (78), Maguire Group (65), Brown, Lindquist, Fenuccio &Raber Architects, INC. and KAESTLE BOOS Associates, Inc. Donham & Sweeney references were very good, and so were the Maguire's Group. Don Poole made a motion to select Maguire's Group as the top candidate. Bob Miller second the motion and the vote was unanimous. Donham & Sweeney would be the second choice if we cannot negotiate a contract. Adjournment 6S~ '~~ s ~ ~nr ~o.
