A RESOLUTION:
AWARDING AN ANNUAL STREET MAINTENANCE
CONTRACT FOR CONCRETE AND BRICK REPAIRS TO
GULL CORPORATION
WHEREAS, the FY 2005 Budget includes funds in the total amount of $159,600
for curb, gutter, and sidewalk replacement and for American Disabilities Act compliance
for repair of concrete and brick surfaces; and
WHEREAS, the total amount that would be spent on this contract in any one year
will vary and will depend on the budgeted amount for that year; and
WHEREAS, in response to a public solicitation for bids for this Street Maintenance
Contract, the town received bids on September 7, 2004, from the following firms:
Gull Corporation
· OMNI Excavators, Inc.
Sagres Construction
WHEREAS, this is a unit price contract; and
$181,200
$196,560
$214,300;and
WHEREAS, the quantities used for bid comparison are estimates; and
WHEREAS, the contract will be awarded in an amount not to exceed the budget of
$159,600; and
WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated by the Director of Capital Projects
Management and the Chief Purchasing Officer in accordance with the bid documents and
the town's purchasing policy; and

WHEREAS, Gull Corporation of Leesburg, Virginia was determined to be the
lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, this contract will be for an initial period of one (1) year and renewable
for four (4) additional consecutive one (1) year periods.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The Annual Street Maintenance Contract for Concrete and Brick
Repairs is hereby awarded to Gull Corporation.
SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to execute this contract.
