A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA,
ACCEPTING A $57,000 GRANT FROM THE SOUTH BAY CENTER FOR COUNSELING
TO SUPPORT THE PREVENTION AND AFTERCARE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the City’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24 budget on June 20, 2023;
and
WHEREAS, the South Bay Center for Counseling (SBCC) has been providing funds for the
Prevention and Aftercare Program (“Program”) since 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Program is designed to strengthen family resilience and nurture the
development of healthy behaviors; and
WHEREAS, the City was recently notified that it will be receiving $57,000 in grant funding from
SBCC for the Program through June 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to accept the foregoing Program funding award, and
amend the FY 2023-24 budget to include Program funding in the amount of $57,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, FIND, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The award of grant funding from SBCC in the amount of $57,000 for the Program
through June 30, 2024 is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The following amendments will be made to the City’s budget based on the award:
FY 2023-24:
Account Number Program & Object Description Amount
210-99-999-999-4513 Family Support Prevention $57,000.00 (Revenue)
210-90-950-980-6009 Family Support Prevention $57,000.00 (Expense)
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall keep a copy of this
resolution attached to the FY 2023-24 budget on file, and effective as of July 5, 2023, the same shall be in force
and effect.
