RESOLUTION NO. 2004--202 ADOPTED December 14, 2004
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE RATIFICATION OF AN AGREEMENT
TO PURCHASE 39.0364 ACRES OF LAND ADJACENT TO
LEESBURG EXECUTIVE AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the FAA-approved Master Plan for Leesburg Executive Airport
includes the purchase of 39.0364 acres of land owned by Leesburg Airport Associates,
LLC; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of this land is important for safety and operational
reasons; and
WHEREAS, the purchase is contained in the FY 04 Capital Improvement Project
Budget; and
WHEREAS, the negotiated purchase price is $1,128,013.85; and
WHEREAS, ninety-eight percent of this purchase price, or $1,105,453.57 is
reimbursable to the town through FAA and DOAV grants; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Director and the Airport Commission recommend
adoption of this resolution; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of time, upon the recommendation of the Airport
Director and the Town Attorney, the Town Manager already has signed the agreement to
purchase the property, which is expressly subject to ratification by Council. (Attachment
I)

AUTHORIZING THE RATIFICATION OF AN AGREEMENT
TO PURCHASE 39.0364 ACRES OF LAND ADJACENT TO
LEESBURG EXECUTIVE AIRPORT
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
that the agreement to purchase 39.0364 acres of land owned by Leesburg Airport
Associates, LLC is hereby ratified.
